“EXPECTATIONS”

Why do we expect so much from others and ourselves, does anyone have answers for this, probably not? This starts from our birth till death, this word is used very often in our lives, our parents expect many big things from all of us, and their expectations from us are somewhere linked to their own happiness. During this course of journey called life we meet so many people, we become close to many and associate ourselves with these different individuals and we start expecting many things from them for our own benefits, so why do we expect so much from others so much??? even though we realize that nothing is going to benefit from it, even then we cry for more and more …………………………

Some times when we pass through the difficult stage of any relationship we see differences growing between us very much, the relationship loses its spark for some time, and then we realize that we are heading in a wrong direction, but not everyone will realize that they are going wrong, they may not even bother about it. still this question is unanswered, it’s very strange to realize that how much we expect from others so much and others expects so much from us , but how much we expect from ourselves ………………………………… do we have an answer for it! I don’t think so.

Again we are on ground zero why do we expect so much from others, hope one day we will get those answers, and start expecting more from ourselves to lead a more meaning full life.

  1. I think you are right..parents expect from children becoz they want to fulfill their incomplete and unrealised dreams through their children, we expect from ourselves bcoz we want to reach a state of perfection where some have reached but we don't realise whether meeting that expectation will give us a momentary happiness or the real longlasting happiness...ideally...expectation is a mental state, we enter into to be unhappy and unsatisfied. It is chasing the abstract....happiness means to live and love what we have and give freedom to everyone to persue what they want for themselves...
